Send Council a message. Remind them why LRT is a good idea - why they unanimously supported it just three years ago.

Please take a minute to contact City Council, tell them you support light rail transit in Hamilton, and remind them why they chose to support it as well.
Since Hamilton City Council voted unanimously in 2008 to support LRT as the preferred option for its east-west Rapid Transit plan, city staff and engaged citizens have been active in developing that plan, conducting the necessary studies, and holding public information centres, stakeholder sessions and focus groups.
Literally thousands of Hamiltonians have actively participated in supporting and developing Hamilton's LRT bid. Metrolinx, the provincial body coordinating regional transit, has called Hamilton's public engagement "unprecedented".
But some Councillors seem to have missed all this, and have even forgotten why they supported LRT in the first place. Instead of focusing on the best way to design, fund and realize LRT, they're back to square one debating whether LRT is even a good idea.
That's why they need your help.
Send them a message. Remind them why LRT is a good idea - why they unanimously supported it just three years ago.
Remind them why a broad consensus of Hamiltonians - including the Chamber of Commerce, the Realtors Association of Hamilton and Burlington, the Downtown and International Village BIAs, the Jobs Prosperity Collaborative, the Poverty Roundtable, and multiple neighbourhood associations and community councils - recognize that a comprehensive, well-thought-out LRT plan is essential to our future as a prosperous, economically dynamic, sustainable city.
If you want your message to Council published on RTH, please copy us with your letter and we will be happy to share it to help inspire other Hamiltonians to speak up.
